Book Review – In Bloom by Katie Delahanty

My Review

I received a copy of In Bloom by Katie Delahanty in exchange for an honest review.

In Bloom in the first book in The Brightside Series and tells the story of Olivia Bloom who left Pittsburgh after a relationship went wrong.  She moves to LA and becomes friends with two Hollywood insiders who take her under their wing and turn her into an LA girl.  Olivia lands a job with a lingerie company, her career is going in the direction it should and one day during a chance meeting with her favorite music idol everything changes.  Berkeley is everything she could ever want in a boyfriend, but how can she put herself out there when she could be torn apart by the paparazzi and the public at large.  This book was somewhat predictable, but that being said I could not put it down.  It was a warm, fuzzy read and even though this book is set in LA, which is like another planet (I know because I lived there), ultimately this book is a love story and which of us cannot relate to that!  The characters were colorful and full of personality, from Olivia’s mom to Olivia’s best friend, who is also her cousin) Boots and her neighbors who were forever loyal.  I can’t wait to read the second book in the series.  Can’t wait to meet Olivia and Berkeley again!
