I received a copy of Elly in Love by Colleen Oakes in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second in the Elly Series where we see Elly moving on with her life after a very heartbreaking divorce in Book 1. Elly’s florist shop is doing very well and she has a very supportive staff for the most part and a boyfriend, Keith, that she is slowly realizing that she’s in love with. Elly has an opportunity for her shop to be featured in a reality show called Bliss Brides and is very excited with what her business future holds. Everything is going great until a stranger appears on her doorstep needing her help – what should she do? What else, but the right thing! This book was a very sweet read, Elly’s character has a lot of heart and in spite of all the curve balls life has thrown her, she somehow weathers them all. Even with cynicism around her and not only her insecurities, but the insecurities of others as well, I would say how could anyone not root for Elly! Keith was a nice guy, but his reasoning behind his secretive nature to me did not hold much water – what can I say? I would recommend this book as a nice, easy read, full of heart, love and lessons in what really matters in life.
